About
In 1996, while a research engineer at a research institute of the
University of Central Florida (UCF), supported by contracts from the
U.S. Department of Energy, Armin Rudd got his start in HVAC controls by
patenting the methods embodied in the original FanRecycler™ (UCF is the
patent owner). His field testing, conference presentations, publications
and articles attracted the attention of leading homebuilding
consultants,
Building Science Corporation, who helped introduce the low-cost,
effective, and energy-saving ventilation control to home builders across
the nation.
More patents followed, and today the FanCycler™ fan cycling and
outside air damper cycling control methods have been sub-licensed to
major companies in the residential and light commercial HVAC arena (see
the Products page). High-performance home programs (like MASCO’s
Environments for Living™) and many national, regional, and local home
builders have adopted these methods in ten’s of thousands of new and
existing homes.
With the right to sub-license, ABT Systems, LLC (717.867.0123) is the
exclusive licensee of the applicable patents owned by the University of
Central Florida (US 5,547,017; 5,881,806; 6,431,268; CA 2,245,135). |
